Oui, mais il faut respecter certaines formalités pour éviter que le voyage de votre compagnon à quatre pattes se transforme en cauchemar.

Sachez que l’entrée des Pitbull Terrier et American Staffordshire Terrier est interdite en Thaïlande.

Pour  les autres chiens et chats, si vous respectez les règles d’entrée et fournissez les documents nécessaires, il n’y aura pas de quarantaine.

En premier lieu, vérifiez que votre chien ou chat est à jour de ses vaccinations et que vous possédez le passeport pour animal de compagnie où figurent les indications d’identification (tatouage ou puce électronique) ainsi que les vaccins et dates de rappels.

Faites une demande à la compagnie aérienne avec qui vous voyagez. Selon le poids de votre animal, il devra voyager en soute ou pourra être admis en cabine à la condition de rester dans un sac pendant toute la durée du vol.

Adressez ensuite une demande d’entrée aux services vétérinaires de l’Aéroport de Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, en stipulant vos coordonnés, le numéro de votre vol, votre date d’arrivée  et les renseignements concernant votre animal. Joignez également copie de son « passeport ».

Vous recevrez alors un certificat à présenter lors de l’embarquement et à votre arrivée, ainsi qu’un certificat international de bonne santé.

Ce certificat international de bonne santé est à remplir par votre vétérinaire. Le formulaire doit être ensuite visé par le service  » santé et protection animales  » de la Direction Départementale des Services Vétérinaires (DDSV) de votre département, dans les 7 jours avant votre départ.

Il ne faut pas oublier de faire un titrage des anti-corps anti-rabiques, ceci est indispensable non pas au départ mais au retour en France. Cet examen doit être effectué par un laboratoire agréé, or les laboratoires thaïs ne le sont pas.

Le jour du voyage, vous présenterez à l’enregistrement le certificat d’entrée établi par les services vétérinaires de l’aéroport de Bangkok.

Une fois arrivés, vous passerez le contrôle des passeports en précisant que vous transportez un animal de compagnie et en présentant le certificat d’entrée.

Vous vous rendrez ensuite au service vétérinaire de l’aéroport, qui se trouve dans la zone de livraison des bagages ; on vous y remettra, après contrôle du certificat international se bonne santé, un permis d’importation pour votre compagnon. Il vous en coutera 100 Baht.

Il vous faudra enfin présenter ce certificat à l’Immigration (un bureau spécial existe près du service vétérinaire), qui validera l’entrée de votre animal après paiement d’un droit d’entrée de 1000 Baht.

It is possible to bring your pet to Thailand, providing you follow certain rules.

Here are the steps to follow to enter Thailand with a companion animal:

• First of all, you should know that Pitbull Terrier and American Staffordshire Terrier are not allowed to enter Thailand. For other dogs and cats, if you follow the entry rules and provide all compulsory documents, there will be no problem, and no quarantine.

• This international health certificate must be completed by your veterinarian. Within 7 days before departure, the form must be approved by the service in charged of animal health and protection within your region Veterinary Services Department.
• Do not forget to do a titration of anti-rabies antibodies. It is not essential to leave your country, but you might need it to return. This verification should be done by an accredited laboratory, and Thai laboratories will usually not be accredited.
• The day of departure, you will show to the registration desk the entry certificate issued by the veterinary services of Bangkok airport.
• Once in Bangkok, you will go through passport control, stating that you are carrying a pet and presenting the entry certificate.
• Then, you will go to the veterinary service of the airport, which is located in the baggage claim area. After checking the international health certificate, they will give you an import permit for your companion animal. It will cost you 100 Baht.
• You will then present this certificate to the Immigration, in a special office located next to the Veterinary Service. After payment of a 1,000 Baht entrance fee, you will be allowed to enter the Kingdom of Thailand with your companion.
